On Wednesday, May 1st, a Guild contingent of faculty and students marched in the annual May Day March in Hollywood. The theme of this year’s march, which began in the United States in 1886 as workers fought for an 8-hour day, was Solidarity is Power: The People United. This year’s May Day followed a year of unprecedented strikes in the entertainment and hotel industries, and the growth of union organizing across the country.
